Martha Petrona Jimenez Perez participates in a collective exhibition dedicated to nature

Camaguey- The artist Martha Petrona Jimenez Perez was invited to participate in the collective exhibition "Flowers, Fauna and the Environment", inaugurated this Thursday, April 13th at the Julian Morales Gallery, located at the UNEAC headquarters in Camaguey. The exposed work by Martha was one belonging to the series "The Secret of my Goats", elaborated in mixed technique on canvas, and created in the year 2016.

"We wanted that in the month of April, when the flowers should bloom, to summon a group of artists to make us a gift by means of the creation of artworks dedicated to review how they see that environment, and how the circumstances and conditions pertaining or relative to the environment can affect it", said the curator Jorge Santos Caballero in his words to the Catalog.

"The exhibition (...) reserves the right to create hope. Only in this way can we come to understand that the world can go towards total destruction if its riches and goodness are not preserved(...) The artists have wanted to reflect and make us reflect on this with works that propose different perspectives and points of view, but all of great resonance", added the specialist.

Alongside Martha, the exhibition included, among other artists, Ileana Sanchez Hing, Joel Jover Llenderroso, Nazario Salazar Martinez, Lorenzo Linares Duque, Osvaldo Rodriguez Petit, Rodrick Dixon Gently and Orestes Larios Zaak.
